Historic Dahlonega Tour
Dahlonega is a very historic city with many buildings still intact, including Georgia’s oldest court house – now the State Gold Museum. Gold mines flourished here and many were very close to the current town square. This package is for a two hour walking tour of the downtown area, narrated by Hal Williams, owner of Misty Mountain Tours. Misty Mountain Tours provides an insightful 2 hour walking tour of the Dahlonega Historic District. The excitement of the first major gold rush in America and its 190 year legacy is brought to life on the very ground on which it occurred. Come to know the stories and legends of miners, Indians, explorers, villains and heroes in the town where the adventure began. It is good for a group for up to 12, so guests of Long Mountain Lodge can invite friends to attend as well.
