Herbal Cooking School
All classes are for guests of Long Mountain Lodge only. All classes are conducted from 3:00pm till 4:30pm Monday through Thursday by Cindi Vernon, who has 20 plus years of experience in medicinal herbs, culinary herbs, growing native and common herbs. Cost is $30 per person plus the cost of your selected lodging. Each class will collect herbs and wild flowers from our 16 acres and then move the lodge kitchen to learn how to incorporate them into very special dishes and beverages. All sessions require a one-week advance reservation & payment for the class. COOKING IN THE WILD – Offered June, July & August: Hands-on learn how to use exotic flavors to enhance your cooking! All-natural beverages, herbals dips & spreads as well as herbals paired with fruits & salads. Walk with Cindi through our gardens to choose herbs to create your own blends.
HERBAL HARVEST – Offered August & September: fun class to learn what to do with the abundance of our veggie & herbal harvest – herb vinegar, herbal jellies, herbal wines, spreads & soups to freeze and much more.
HERBAL TEAS & HERBAL TREES WALK – Offered September, October & November: learn the benefits of herbal teas and how to make them from herbs you grow or found in the wild. The walk will introduce you to herbal trees and Cindi is a fountain of info on their folklore and their medicinal uses.
